Join the Bank that invests in innovation and decarbonisation: Join the EIB, the EU’s Climate Bank

Engineers in a Bank ? Why do you need those…?

We need strong sector experts (engineers and economists) working who can assess the economic and technical viability, as well as the environmental and social sustainability, of projects and programmes in which we may invest. Having in-house technical expertise is one of things that makes the EIB so unique!

In our activities, we focus on supporting innovations of the future: be it large corporates’ R&D or innovations from small start-ups and scale ups. Underpinning our investments is the goal to support the decarbonization of the sectors we serve: from energy intensive industries to automotive and diverse technology sectors. We do projects across supply chains and company types: upstream and downstream, large and small, manufacturing and service, public and private companies, which provides us with unique insights on the state of the underlying industries. Key focus areas include Critical Raw Materials, Energy Intensive and Process Industries, Battery Supply Chains, Energy Equipment, Transformative Digitalization and AI, Automotive and Advanced Manufacturing, Net-Zero Technology Manufacturing.
